About Me

I’m Noel; a photographer, hiker, traveller, and foodie-in-training. That means I love to take pictures of everywhere I go, and often of anything I’m eating, drinking, or experiencing.

But I discovered something along the way – a love for meeting and photographing people – that I didn’t expect. Another surprise was that the act of sharing  the intensity, beauty and emotions, especially on special days like weddings, adds an extra dimension to being a photographer that is incredibly rewarding… beyond the images that are created.

My style is ‘Classic Images for Cool Customers‘, capturing the moments and personalities of your wedding day in a way that will stand the test of time. I use a loose photojournalist style, never tedious,  stiff or overly posed. For most of the day I’ll be constantly taking pictures this way, and there will always time for some casual portraits between the days events and as we move between venues.

You’ll find me mostly in and around Calgary or the nearby mountains; with some sort of camera in my hand – even it’s my trusty iPhone. I use my ‘big-boy’ digital SLR for most of client work, but have been known to bust out a film camera, like the Diana F+ or ‘blackbird, fly’ for impromptu, fun events.

I may be easy-going and fun, but my #1 focus is on understanding what’s important to you and important for your images, and for your big day. As both a craftsman and businessman I feel motivated to keep getting better images and making happier clients, so you’ll often see posts about photographic technique in the ‘For Photographers‘ section.

If you want to get to know more of me and my style, read through the blog posts, I’m a pretty straightforward guy.

If you like the images the next step is to contact me, and tell me your story and what you’re looking for.

I have some pretty eclectic tastes in my media choices … all of it fuels my creative side.
